How To Achieve Long And Healthy Nails

Having a nail care routine is just as important as having a facial routine. We believe it's crucial to keep our nails clean and healthy. We've learned some tips and tricks to achieving strong, healthy, and long nails throughout the years and want to share them with you.

Ways To Encourage Nail Growth

  • Keep nails dry and clean. Keeping your nails clean because it prevents bacteria from growing under your fingernails. Keeping your nails constantly in water can contribute to split fingernails. We recommend wearing cotton-lined rubber gloves when washing dishes and using harsh chemicals when cleaning.

  • Moisturize. When applying lotion, rub it into your fingernails and cuticles. We also recommend using cuticle oil.

  • Apply a protective layer. Applying a nail hardener will help strengthen nails.

  • Consult your doctor about taking biotin. Research suggests that the nutritional supplement biotin may help strengthen weak or brittle fingernails.

Ways To Prevent Nail Damage

  • No biting or pulling. We strongly discourage biting, picking your cuticles, and pulling hangnails. These habits can damage the nail bed and allow bacteria to enter and cause an infection. If you have a hangnail, it is better to use a nail clipper.

  • Limit harsh nail care products. Limit your use of nail polish remover. When using nail polish remover, opt for an acetone-free formula.

  • Don't ignore problems. If you have any issues that won't go away on their own or are associated with other signs, consult your doctor or dermatologist for an evaluation immediately.
